Who we are
Cancer in Common is a non-profit organisation that was set up to enable people within the cancer community the opportunity to connect with other individuals with similar life experiences.
A Cancer diagnosis can be very isolating and negatively effect mental health and wellbeing. Facing cancer is hard enough but doing it alone is far harder.
Cancer in Common provides fun and free events, that allow adults from the Cancer community to meet, socialise and create support networks.
These events are about having fun, with people who get it.
What people are saying…
-
Jo
"Cancer in Common, a room full of love, laughter and kindness. A place to connect and meet others without being judged. An event to meet likeminded people who understand and ‘get it’. Cancer really is the worst way to meet the best people.”
-
Anisha
“Cancer is a lonely place even if you are fortunate to have friends and family around you. But there was always something missing and that was the unsaid understanding of meeting others who had been diagnosed with cancer who just ‘got it’.
Despite treatment types, cancers and stages all being different, we all had ‘cancer and common’ and no longer felt alone. Felt seen. This community offered the world’s biggest hug, and to meet those in person who you may have bonded and connected with online, in person – well there is no feeling like it.
As a patient (and a doctor), this is some of the best therapy I had for navigating life with and after cancer. I assure you, you will find your tribe and you will never feel alone again.”

“I have found CinC events to be a fantastic place to meet like minded people, gain advice and create wonderful friendships. It’s the arm round your shoulder that you need and will always be there.”
-
Carly
“Cancer in Common is the most uplifting event you could attend if you've been diagnosed with cancer. It might be that we have cancer in common but these events show that we also have a love of life in common, a love of glitter in common, a love of dancing and cocktails in common and I love of connecting with incredible people in common. They are a highlight of my diary.”

“I love going to CinC events. There is something so magical about being in a room with people who have experienced a cancer diagnosis. It’s a room of love and laughter, catching up with friends and meeting new! It’s like therapy, my heart is always full after!”
-
Ami
“I love CinC! It’s a wonderful safe space to let your hair down, meet some fabulous amazing people who have been through a tough cancer journey yet still show up ready to share experiences and welcome you with wisdom love and support!
Then as the music starts we all get up and dance until the joy fills the room.
If you arrive alone you’ll leave with new friends! I come away feeling that someone wrapped me up in a warm duvet, gave me hot chocolate and told me everything is going to be ok.
If you’ve been before you’ll meet those you love again. What a difference it made during a time I felt so alone!”

Such an amazing day! I honestly am so proud of myself for coming solo! I met Emily and Nuala and we got on like a house on fire – we are planning a brunch ☺️.
