FAQs

  • Cancer in Common events are fun, friendly and informal. Each event has an official host who will welcome you to the venue (offering a big cuddle if you need it!) If you come alone, the host will will make sure you have someone to talk to. These events are about spending time together and meeting people who ‘get it’ – with the aim of bringing the community together and forming friendships.

  • Cancer in Common events are for anyone over the age of 18 who is currently living with cancer or in remission. We’re dedicated to keeping our events free so that everyone is included.

The attendees of our events have all sorts of different cancer types, are a wide range of ages, and all genders.

  • Our aim is to create a comfortable, friendly and fun environment so you can come along and meet new people, but we understand it can be daunting to walk into a room full of strangers. You’re very welcome to bring along a friend or partner to your first event, if that helps. Just make sure you have a ticket for them.

  • We’re currently a small charity, but we have BIG plans. The largest of our events are in London, but we also hold them across the UK. We try to choose venues that have good public transport links, but if you’d like to suggest your nearest city for a CinC event, then please do get in touch!

We’re currently a UK-only charity but even if you’re in another country we hope to come to a city near you one day.

  • We try as much as possible to accommodate all sorts of accessibility requirements, whether that’s venues with plenty of seating, without stairs (or with a lift) and disabled toilets.

Whilst we’d love for all our venues to have parking, it’s a challenge to find this in city centres, so we at least ensure that you can easily reach us via public transport.

Check the page for an event you’re interested in to see more details or contact us if you have a specific question.

  • No dress code! Wear what you feel comfortable in.

  • Your beautiful self, along with a print out or screen shot of your ticket.

  • We know how tricky it can be to guess how you might be feeling on any given day. That’s partly why our events are free and come with no commitment. Whether you’re feeling physically unwell or just not in the headspace for socialising, that’s ok!

We kindly ask that if you do decide not to come that you drop us a quick message at any time to let us know. That way we can offer the ticket to someone else.

  • All venues will have catering available. We aim to partner with venues that have good vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options and of course plenty of good non-alcoholic drink alternatives. If you have a specific question, contact us.

  • Whilst we can’t share a list of attendee’s names and emails for privacy reasons, do let us know if you’re coming alone and are feeling nervous about it – or if you’re a regular and happy for us to pair you up with someone new.

  • We’re dedicated to keeping the tickets free for everyone, so if you’d like to sponsor us to support future events, we’d be really grateful.

  • Yes! We have some wonderful corporate sponsors who are a valued part of our team. Please contact us for more information.

  • We are a Registered Charity in England and Wales (Charity number: 1206869).
